From time to time, when I can’t get out in the wilderness, there is nothing as wonderful as a good old session of wilderness porn. So having had chemo yesterday, I settled down and found a fun video on the Outside Magazine channel on Youtube to watch today. It tracks two guys who hiked the entire PCT at one go, taking over 170 days, and experiencing 3 out of four seasons. Along the way they experienced much to share with us and came to spiritual realizations. People came and went, civilization came and went (highlighting our social need to touch base), and weather came, went, and came again.
So if you have the time (1hour and 26minutes) join me in vicariously walking the PCT..
BTW: This pair has also established a non-profit, The Dusty Camel, for wilderness preservation and helping others to experience the richness of the wilderness experience. Check out their site at http://www.thedustycamel.org.
